When you know your worth, no one can make you feel worthless.
I was in a situation where I was so fed up about my job. Every single day I was dreading to go to work. And finally, I decided and my time has ended in the job I used to love.
I just felt exhausted and stressed at work. I was surrounded with fake colleagues and bosses who treated me as a piece of crap. I was just so lucky that there are so many opportunities out there and I have found another job easily.
I just want to share the signs that made me realised that I was working in a toxic environment.
HERE ARE THE SIGNS YOU’RE IN A TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE A ROBOT NOT A HUMAN BEING– Your boss treats you like a robot. The way he asks you to complete a task is like he is the owner of the company. You are not allowed to say no and if you do, you are in a big trouble. You are afraid to show emotions because your boss will tell you off. You are forced to show your boss that they are always right and they are above the rules.
- YOU GET AND FEEL BULLIED- When you feel or someone makes you feel so small and feel unsatisfied. Sometimes, verbal bullying is more painful than physical bullying, it can make you feel worthless and little.
- YOU FEEL DISRUPTED AND UNFOCUSED- Have you ever feel disrupted at work? This disruption may affect you even after you finish your shift. Because you are under pressure, you can not focus and instead of doing your job properly, you make more mistakes.
- EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING– Complaining and gossiping environment is the most unhealthy place you could ever be at. People who complain a lot in your environment can drag your emotions down.
- POOR COMMUNICATION- Management hide information that you should know or maybe they are holding back something to you.
I experienced all of these things that’s why I decided to quit the job I used to enjoy. I have no regret of leaving my old job where I was earning more. However, I realised that it is not about the money all the time, you have to prioritise your happiness. Peace of mind is more important to me than money.
I haven’t written any blog since end of March, when I realised that I should quit my job and look for a new one. Since then, I have been unfocused and uninspired to write anything. Now that I have started with my new job, where it is more relaxing and easier. And also I have more time after work to do the things I like to do and to spend more time with my loved ones and friends.
Sorry for ranting about my frustrations about work. I just wanted to write and share what I was experiencing and this is the purpose of my blog site. Thank you all for taking the time to read my blog post.
Lots of Love,
Rainne xxx
It can mitigate your frustrations by considering that a lot of rank and file employees are also stuck at the same quagmire. Peace of mind is the best vengeance. But again like any other employment one will be presented with the same challenges as before. You’ll get wiser and mentally stronger as you progress.
