BEST ANNIVERSARY SURPRISE… 6 Things That Happened to Me After Getting Engaged

I guess, getting engaged is one of the best feelings ever. The feeling of being in love and you have found the one who wants to spend the rest of your lives together. I want to share how my ‘fiancée’ planned everything and what happened to me after the engagement. I’m sure some of you will relate to one of these 6 emotions after your partner popped the question.

WOW!!! It has been four years and we still managed to keep our LDR relationship stronger than ever. I truly believe that whatever your situation is if both of you have respect, trust and strong connection to each other no matter how far away you live from each other love will win.

My fiancée and I celebrated our 4th anniversary on 16 February. I went to the Philippines to see her and to celebrate our anniversary. She had planned everything. It was not a big secret is just that I trust her and I like her taste on choosing a good restaurant so I was not bothered to ask any details about her plan. All I know is that we are going to Tagaytay, one of my favourite destinations in the Philippines, where the weather is quite mild and where you can find an inactive volcano called Taal. Booked our hotel for 2 nights. And have our anniversary dinner somewhere in Tagaytay.

On the night of our anniversary, she drove to one of the executive villages in Tagaytay, made me think “is there a restaurant in this area?”. When we arrived at the venue, called THE PURPLE OWL, she asked me to stay inside the car to wait. The Purple Owl is an event place where you can book an intimate dinner for you and your partner. It is also a wedding venue.

Then she came back and we both went inside. The venue looks like a typical residential house in the Philippines where you should leave your footwear outside. Then a staff assisted and take us to the place where we were booked. We went outside the house to the garden area and we saw a couple having their intimate dinner at the garden. And I thought, are we going to have the same? But the lady opened a two-door room opposite the couple who were enjoying their dinner.

In the room, it was set up beautifully and I thought, wow this is a lovely intimate set up for us and everything was pink.

We had our 3-course meal dinner which were so delicious. From the appetiser to the main course and dessert were all amazing. Big thumbs up to their chef!

After we finished our 3-course meal, the lady who was serving us asked if we want coffee and another dessert. Then my fiancée left me alone in the room and went with the server in the kitchen. She came back holding a wooden tray with a silver cover on it and a rose. She said that she asked for an extra dessert for me and she wanted to serve it herself.

I was so excited to open it as I love and want more dessert. But when I lifted the silver cover, it was a plate with rose petals and a small velvety black box. And I was so shocked and surprised because I’ve kinda guessed what was it. Click here to see the full video of the surprise.

I really got so emotional as technically, we already have plans of settling down. I remembered I was always teasing her that I want a diamond ring. Then she made it official, WE GOT ENGAGED!!!

Now, Here are the 6 Things That Happened to Me After Getting Engaged:

  1. I obsess over the ring- First of all, it’s so beautiful and shiny and secondly, it is the most expensive present I have ever received.
  2. I get sick of telling the proposal story- obviously, at first you get too excited to tell the story to everyone who asks, but after the 100th time, it gets tiring.
  3. I feel strange that I now call my partner “fiancée”-Don’t get me wrong, I am not used to it yet, but I find it weird sometimes.
  4. I now became a Pinterest addict- I go on Pinterest to look for wedding inspirations, from the wedding dress, venues, flowers etc.
  5. I started to write and plan my guest’s list- I’m a sucker for being organised and planning ahead. I just want a list of special people in my life to witness my wedding day.
  6. I realised I get to spend the rest of my life with the person I love the most- Even though my fiancée and I are still in LDR, we are both looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together. I really can’t wait.

After our engagement, I felt that I am so lucky to be loved by someone who thinks about my happiness and my worth. My fiancée spoils me to rotten whenever she can. Now, all I want is for her to come here to the U.K. and be with me forever and ever.

I hope I have entertained you with my engagement story. Thanks for reading my blog post and until the next one.

lots of love,

Rainne xxx
